Please remember that some wood styles are better suited for use as panel sections (walls and doors), while others make superb trim pieces, as noted. With 33 different wood species to choose from, you have the ability to create as much or as little contrast as you like, according to your own creativity and sense of style.

TO STAIN, OR NOT TO STAIN?
THAT IS THE QUESTION.
Many woods darken and gain character with age, as time and nature’s chemistry combine to create a beautiful patina on its exterior surfaces.

This natural effect cannot be duplicated by any artificial stain product.

DEMONSTRATION
To demonstrate the effect, we’ve chosen cherry, a wood that tends to “mature” rapidly.

You can see the anticipated shade range for furniture made with natural cherry, and how the addition of stain and finish affect its color.

And the samples on the right show the natural progression for untreated wood over one year; note how the patina has created a translucent, rich reddish-orange color with added depth in the grain.

Unstained, it will simply grow more beautiful with each year’s passing, as heirlooms do.

However, if your goal is to match existing furniture or to enjoy a certain color right away, then you might choose to have us apply a stain and/or finish to your Armoire Exterior.
